Men’s Club Local Rules

  1.  On holes #3, #4, #5:  The lift station has been marked with a white line that surrounds the area.  If relief is needed from this area it is to be taken as follows:

1.) find the point of relief outside the white line that is closest, no nearer the hole, 2.) take your stance and drop the ball within one club-length.

* NOTE:  Line of flight relief may not be taken.  If you are behind the lift station but not inside the area marked for relief you must play around or over the lift station, or take relief under Rule 28 (Ball Unplayable).

If the ball is lost:  If the group can determine that the ball came to rest inside the marked area around the lift station the player may take relief as noted above without penalty.  If it cannot be determined that the ball came to rest in the lift station the player must play their next shot from the previous position hitting their next shot with a penalty stroke.

  2.  On hole #4: If a ball comes to rest within the marked hazard in front of the green you may take relief under Rule 26 (Water Hazards), or you may choose to use the drop area on the green side of the hazard.  If you choose to use the drop area you must still add one penalty stroke to your score. When taking relief in the “drop area” you must drop your ball.

3.  On hole #5:  The left side of hole #5 will be marked as a lateral (red) hazard.  Because the sign for “The Links” is within the hazard lines, NO RELIEF may be taken from the sign.

4.  On hole #13: the construction road marked with stakes and ropes is mandatory ground under repair.  YOU MUST TAKE FREE RELIEF IF YOUR BALL ENDS UP WITHIN THE STAKED AREA and IN BOUNDS.  Also, if your ball hits a stake or the rope you may re-play your shot with no penalty.

5.  On hole #16: all flights may use the drop area that is painted on the fairway side of the hazard.  If your tee shot(s) goes in the hazard, you may go around to the drop area under a penalty of 2 strokes (if you use the drop area after your first tee shot, you'd be hitting your 4th shot from the drop area).

6.  DROP AREAS: Men’s Club members may only use the drop areas on #4 and #16!

7.  OUT OF BOUNDS: Behind #10 green and #17 tee box, and from left of #16 green to #11 tee box, out of bounds will be defined by the edge of the sidewalk.  If your ball crosses this boundary, even if it crosses from one side to the other and ends up back on the golf course, it is considered out of bounds.

8.  In order to help with pace of play, provisional balls may be played at any time.  If you have any doubt that your ball will be playable (whether lost, out of bounds, or in a hazard), please play a provisional.  FOR A LOST BALL, DO NOT SPEND MORE THAN 3 MINUTES LOOKING!

9.  All other play is governed by the USGA rules.  The course is marked clearly and the proper steps are to be followed in making a ruling on relief.  Failure to follow USGA rules or Links local rules could result in penalty or disqualification.

10.  INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the event of inclement weather that prohibits all participants from completing 18 holes, the tournament may be shortened as determined by the committee based on the number of holes that have been completed by all players.

Men's Club Pace of Play Policy

Any group finishing in more than 2 hours PER 9 HOLES will be penalized 2 shots per player.  If a group finishes in more than the allotted

time, each group following must then finish at that same pace (for example, if the 1st group finishes in 2:05, each of those players will be

penalized and all groups after that must finish in 2:05).

BOTTOM LINE: If you keep up with the group in front, you will not have any problems!!
